What is an ACE?
An Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) is a person who has demonstrated a professional level in proficiency with one or more Adobe software products. To become an ACE, you must pass one or more product-specific proficiency exams and agree to the ACE terms and conditions.
What is an ACA?
An Adobe Certified Associate (ACA) credential certifies individuals have the entry-level skills to plan, design, build, and maintain effective communications using different forms of digital media.

Master certifications:
ACE Master Certification Recognizes your skills with entire product suites. To become certified as an Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) Master, you must pass the current exam for each of the products in the suite. All exams must be the same version, for example, all CS3 or all CS4 to meet the requirements.

Step 2: Register for the exam
Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) exams are administered by Pearson VUE, an independent third-party testing company. The tests are offered at over five thousand authorized testing centers in over one hundred countries. The certification exam fee is US $150 worldwide.

Step 3: Prepare for and take the exam
Certification exams are computer-delivered, closed-book tests consisting of 60 to 90 multiple-choice questions. Each exam takes one to two hours to complete, and results are given to you at the testing center immediately after you finish.
Review Agreement
Review the Certification Agreement prior to taking the exam. You will be asked to agree to the Adobe terms and conditions at the time of the exam.
Step 4: Community and Recertification
Visit the Adobe Certified Community
Once you are certified, visit the Adobe Certified community where you can:
- Verify exam results
- Get a copy of the Certification Agreement
- Download your Adobe Certified logo
- Find out about recertification
- Update your profile
Recertify when necessary
Once obtained, your certification is valid until 90 days after the exam version of your certification is retired. Adobe will e-mail you a reminder when your certification is due for renewal and will let you know when you need to take another exam.
