Program Description:
The Bookkeeping program is designed to provide the technical and personal skills necessary for a graduate to obtain entry-level employment as a bookkeeper with basic accounting and payroll skills. A Bookkeeper computes, classifies, and records numerical data to keep financial records complete, and performs any combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records. A Bookkeeper may also check the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions recorded by other workers. Graduates of this program may obtain employment as a Bookkeeper, Accounting Clerk, Accounting Specialist, Accounting Assistant, Accounts Payable Clerk, Processing Clerk, Payroll Specialist or any one of a number of similar positions. |
